Fans anticipating the arrival of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined won't have to wait the full month. An exciting trial experience is set to go live on Jan. 7, offering a sizable taste into the game's initial chapters. Critically, all save data achieved within this demo can be imported directly into the full game upon its February debut.

Beyond Just a Simple Re-release: A Thorough Reimagining

This title is a comprehensive reinterpretation of the iconic year 2000 role-playing game, first titled Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. Taking a significant step away from recent series remakes, such as the recently released HD-2D versions, this version utilizes a unique 3D aesthetic. The world are designed to evoke detailed dioramas, with characters having a whimsical stylized design.

"Even with the 3DS remake, the main quest was remained notoriously long. So we reached a determination that we wanted to streamline the story, [and] make this adventure for today's players."

Key Gameplay Changes & Modernizations

Square Enix have implemented several modernizations to update the original gameplay loop. This encompasses:

• Expedited Overworld Battles: Taking a cue from contemporary RPGs, weaker enemies can now be defeated directly on the field eliminating the need for initiating a separate turn-based battle screen.
• Adjustable Combat Pace: Gamers have the option to speed up combat animations to rapidly get past simpler encounters.
• Expanded Vocation System: One completely new character role was added for this remake. Additionally, characters gain the capacity to take on a second job, significantly enhancing strategic possibilities.

Such changes are aimed at tackle one of the original game's common points of feedback: its considerable playtime. The initial main quest could easily take more than 100 hours to see through. This new version has been specifically reworked to improve pacing and reduce perceived bloat.
