Edwards and O'Neil Among Wolverhampton Wanderers Managerial Candidates

Edwards along with O'Neil represent the initial names in the frame to succeed Vitor Pereira as head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The previous coach was sacked on the weekend following the team's ten-game without a victory start to the Premier League campaign.

Furthermore both candidates - each of whom have previous links to the team - are part of the names to be considered by the club ownership.

The manager is presently at Middlesbrough, which would create a possible hurdle to his appointment at Wolves' stadium.

However the ex- Luton head coach - who played over a century of appearances for the club during his time as a player - is considered a strong candidate for the vacancy.

The 42-year-old is reportedly enjoys backing from the Wolves directors as they begin the search of appointing a fresh head coach.

Gary O'Neil is additionally appearing as a surprise candidate, although he would be a shock choice given he was released by the club in December last year.

The ex- West Ham United player is currently unemployed meaning the club would not be required to provide any compensation.
