Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have stated that a former physician stands accused of performing assaults against 38 individuals who were under his care.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Charges
Prosecutors said the 45 sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
