Your Ideal Pokémon Tales: Z-A Super Form Based on the Astrological Sign

The return of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense excitement within the fandom. From the gradual unveiling of fresh additions before the title's launch, to trainers developing strong opinions on the full roster of new Megas, there's plenty for enthusiasts to anticipate.

Given many of the Mega Evolutions boasting unique appearances that highlight their personalities, one idea naturally: How can link this with zodiac signs? The following is based on a mix of vibes, common zodiac traits, and personal experience.

Aries – Super Camerupt

Honestly, Houndour's evolution was almost selected for Aries, as both are the Mega Pokémon and zodiac symbol that evoke the greatest apprehension. However, a Mega Houndoom appears as constantly angry, which doesn't match the Aries vibe, known for being fun, cheerful, and impulsive. This makes the Ram much more akin to Mega Camerupt, which solely erupts when provoked. Stay on the friendly side of both and benefit from a strong ally; if you cross them, be ready to get burned.

The Bull – Mega Heracross

Similar to a loyal Bull, the reliable Heracross species, whether in its standard and Super Form, has assisted many players in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, both the creature and a Bull are also Fighting types, and – whether it's their companion or a firm belief – will stand up for their side to the end. The thing about Mega Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unashamed love of snacks. Several previous official descriptions note their craving for tasty tree sap and how it employs its appendage to hoard it everything, which is true Bull-sign vibe.

The Twins – Super Medicham

Observe this absolute queen. It's impossible to tell me this Pokémon is not the life of any gathering, providing an constant stream of gossip to those who wants to listen. Just like an enrapturing, gregarious Gemini, it's incredibly simple to imagine Super Medicham captivating an whole Wild Zone with their tales. Medicham’s official description also states its capacity to predict an enemy’s future actions, which seems quite like a socially-savvy Gemini.

Cancer – Super Manectric

Cancer is widely regarded as the most sensitive sign of the zodiac, a passionate symbol famous for often getting wrapped up in their emotions. According to the official info, Super Evolution charges the creature with a “huge amount of energy, but it's too much for Manectric to fully manage,” which sounds a lot like a classic Crab crash-out. It is also recognized for its ability to create a thundercloud over its very head – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is going to do, it’s spoil their own parade.

The Lion – Super Starmie

Oh, did you think I was planning to select the lion Pokémon for the lion of the zodiac? Besides the reality that it would be far too on the nose, Leo is obviously Mega Starmie, the star whose gams just went viral for being extremely fabulous (or terrifying, depending on your taste). Fans couldn’t look away from the purple sea star, and that’s exactly the same vibe a Leo offers to the table. Starmie is also said to be broadcasting radio waves from its red core out into space, and it’s typical of a Lion to be staging a show, even if for extraterrestrials.

The Maiden – Super Victreebel

The ever-prepared and perpetually-anxious Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with constant digestive issues. The zodiac symbol known for being endearingly judgmental is strongly mirrored across this Pokémon’s whole lineage, from a perpetually surprised expression like a Virgo when you tell them you lack a 401(k), to its upside-down visage that’s just like the emoji a Virgo posts to the group chat when everyone says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than making a strategy.

The Scales – Mega Audino

Observe this gentle, empathetic creature, who uses the sensors on its ears to tell how others are emotionally by their pulse. Consistently empathetic – sometimes to a fault – and trying to maintain the harmony, there are numerous Scales who would likely benefit from Mega Audino’s abilities. Though, to be frank, it would likely just make them worry more about everyone else.

The Scorpion – Mega Banette

This Ghost-type is a creature with a surprisingly sad origin: Discarded as a toy, it gained sentient through pure hatred and swore revenge on its previous caretaker. Per the official info, Super Evolution, “increases its vindictiveness.” That sounds precisely like several conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpio loves karma and comeuppance, making them the ideal pair with Super Banette.

Sagittarius – Mega Hawlucha

Each Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly staging a show. As a Sagittarius personally, the number of occasions I’ve referred to myself some version of a “silly small entertainer” is countless. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its description even notes how it “flexes to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Super Form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Archer counterpart I can imagine.

Capricorn – Super Absol

Did you know that a Mega Absol has the power to predict disasters in advance? That exudes the exact same vibe as a Goat, who tends to always think they’re right. Interestingly, much like a prophetic Mega Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the very first Mega Evolution that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Capricorn to join the ground floor of the Super Form craze.

The Water Bearer – Super Chandelure

Aloof element Aquarius is arguably the non-flame sign that is closest to a fire sign – its sister sign is Leo, and there are numerous jokes about Sagittarius and Water Bearer being unpredictable partners in crime. Super Chandelure's double Spirit/Flame category matches perfectly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating aura is also extremely Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “absorbs negative energy and converts it into power.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
